Fuel their day coffee2With Fuel Their Day beans from workplace coffee specialists Roast & Ground, 25p from the purchase of every distinctively yellow-labelled pack goes to Only A Pavement Away – a donation that Roast & Ground then matches, so that for each pack you buy the charity receives 50p.

“We are very excited to be launching this new coffee to coincide with World Homeless Day on 10 October,” says Roast & Ground co-director Catherine Gray. “The charity does fabulous work and already gets huge support from the hospitality industry. We hope that in launching Fuel Their Day coffee we’ll not only raise funds for Only A Pavement Away but also help raise awareness of its work amongst a new and different audience of business customers.”

Only A Pavement Away runs campaigns throughout the year to help raise awareness and funds that support people facing or at risk of homelessness including prison leavers and veterans and help them into purposeful employment. Catherine first spotted the charity on LinkedIn during lockdown.

“I worked with its founder Greg Mangham in a former job,” she explains, “and was immediately keen to support their Winter Warmth campaign, which distributes warm weather appropriate clothing and personal essentials to people experiencing homelessness across 7 cities in the UK each November.

“Our B2B customers are predominantly in London and other cities across the UK where Only A Pavement Away focus their work. The plight of people facing homelessness is clearly evident on our cities’ streets, so it was a natural next step to make Only A Pavement Away our house charity and create this wonderful new espresso blend with them in mind.”

Fuel Their Day has been hand-selected by Roast & Ground’s chief coffee taster Richard Gray and works beautifully in both bean-to-cup and traditional espresso machines. Sourced from Latin America, Ethiopia and Vietnam, it is a rich warming blend of hand-selected arabica and robusta beans redolent with smooth chocolate and butterscotch flavours.

Like all Roast & Ground coffees, it is made from 100 per cent ethically sourced, speciality grade beans and certified, in this case by the Rainforest Alliance. This international NGO fights deforestation and climate change while also building better opportunities and working conditions for coffee farmers.

Fuel Their Day is available now by the case from https://shop.roastandground.co.uk/coffee

You do not have to be a current customer to purchase the new blend; simply register to shop online and Roast & Ground will arrange the rest.

Its bespoke hospitality Jobs Board - which is free of charge - has been developed to help streamline and alleviate the burden of the processes that employers go through in employing people who are struggling to reconnect with society. It has ambitious plans in place to support a further 1,000 people - who are either experiencing or at risk of homelessness - into work over the next 2 years. In addition, the financial impact and benefit to the hospitality sector would reach;
