We’re proud to partner with the Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management (IWFM) for the Facilities Show taking place at ExCel between the 18th – 20th June 2019. You’ll find us together on stand FM6435, where you’ll be able to grab a cup of our delicious 9-5 Daterra Brazil coffee, whilst checking out all that IWFM has to offer.

We can’t wait to see you there!

the facilities show 2019

The Facilities Show is an unmissable date on the facilities manager’s calendar which will attract a record 12,000 visitors and showcase more than 2,000 facilities solutions. Spearheaded by IWFM, it reflects the great work that they do for the profession – being champions, trainers and accreditors for workplace and facilities managers who want to develop, gain professional recognition and stay up-to-date with the very latest developments. The vision of IWFM is to see workplace and facilities management as a distinct profession (you can find out more about their work on their website).

In 2019, the event will also play host to two brand-new features: the Smart Buildings Expo and the Workplace Wellbeing Show, which will demonstrate the latest technology in these two critical sectors, including green energy, sustainability and smart buildings.

But, as anyone who’s attended such a massive event knows, it’s tough to get talking, networking and mingling.

We believe the answer lies in great coffee because great coffee gets you talking (and relaxed, and working)

But then we would say that, wouldn’t we? After all, we’re a coffee supplier, who’ll be serving up coffee for IWFM at their event on stand FM6435. So, let’s put some proof to our tall coffee claims. As we’ll go on to explain (with plenty of evidence), not only is coffee capable of stirring up conversation, a few cups a day could also increase productivity, while driving down employee stress.

Can coffee really get people talking?

As a facilities manager, alongside maintaining safe working spaces, you’re also tasked with creating an environment in which workers, work well. So, if there were a single step for ensuring your employees were more productive, you’d take it right?

Well, there’s reason to believe that this step, could simply be the right choice of coffee machine (like any of these machines we’ve written about right here). Not only is there evidence that 20% of coffee drinkers say that coffee helps them socialise almost half of workers also say that coffee assists them in staying productive (Red Booth). And beyond productivity, coffee can also be good for your workers’ health (something we blogged about not so long ago, in: Boost Business and Workers' Health).

Here’s another fact for you: coffee works best at times of peak cortisol (Design Taxi), which is the body’s stress hormone, such as after the morning commute, at 9:30AM, or during an afternoon slump, at 1:30PM. All of which might be to do with coffee being the arch-nemesis of Adenosine – a chemical produced during sleep, that makes us feel (unsurprisingly) sleepy.

So, in short, great coffee = good mood (and good news all around for your office team).

It’s good to talk (even better over a great cup of coffee)

Every year, we’re responsible for hundreds of machines that create mood-lifting, brain-awakening cups of great coffee for thousands of people, day in, day out. For IWFM, we’ll be doing it in person, serving up cups of our ethical, exciting rich pulped Daterra Brazil coffee, from our the Rex-Royal S300 bean-to-cup coffee machine (a machine rightly considered caffeine royalty, capable of creating the perfect crema, brewed at the ideal temperature).

Find us on stand FM6435. Join us, and IWFM, and get a taste not only of great coffee, but also for IWFM’s most popular Academy courses – such as their ‘Introduction to FM’ and ‘Building Management’. They’ll also be offering free one-to-one advice and be on hand to tell you all about joining the Institute.
